Relaunch of The London Angel Club

On the evening of October 8th, Angels Den launched the first in-person event of the London Angel Club since Covid-19. The attendees were seasoned angel investors and budding entrepreneurs seeking insight into the industry. The event consisted of an interesting panel discussion hosted by our CEO Abhilasha Dafria, Executive Chairman Paul Nuber, and London Angel Club Manager Colin Spiller. We then invited three remarkable entrepreneurs to present their exciting companies: Takumi, CtrLend, and Smokey Treats. This provided a valuable opportunity for investors to directly ask founders any burning questions and understand their ideas in depth. We also had members of the Angels Den team speaking about four new releases as part of the Angel Den holistic offering: Non-Dilutive Finance options and strategies, the Angels Den Academy, MENA Expansion, and Legal Services. The event broke into a social hour where investors mingled with entrepreneurs, networked with fellow investors and treated to products from several product start-ups.

The Start-ups

Takumi

Takumi is a global influencer marketing company that provides a fully managed service and SaaS tools powered by an award-winning, data-driven tech platform built on creator authenticity & performance. Takumi's growth strategy is concentrated on platform development and commercial growth. Its platform development’s main focus is on measurement, data, and reporting, while its commercial is focused on targeting both brands and agencies as well as increasing SaaS revenue. Some notable companies that work with Takumi include Mercedes, Visa, and Nike.

CtrLend

CrtLend is an intelligent platform that revolutionizes lending operations through automated control and global scalability. Its core benefitsinclude accelerating deal flow and funding, reducing operational overhead, ensuring continuous compliance, and enabling efficient global lending. The features that allow these benefits include real-time contract enforcement, automated purchase batching, streamlined onboarding, and global accounts and & cross-border border payments.

Smokey Treats

Smokey Treats is the world’s first eco-conscious cigarette. Big Tobacco has fooled smokers into believing that cigarette filters are made out of cotton. However, they are made out of plastic. With 75% of smokers admitting to littering their filters, it has become a huge problem. This is why Smokey Treats came up with the first-ever non-plastic cigarette filter to help fight against environmental harm towards the environment.

The New Angels Den Offerings

Non-Dilutive Finance: Did you know that in the UK 20% of businesses fail in their first year, and nearly 60% in their first 3 years? This is due to a lack of working capital, or simply running out of money. But equity finance isn’t the only solution! Diversifying sources of funds from non-dilutive financing products reduces the risk of the company going under! Most entrepreneurs are not aware of other means of fund acquisition, causing their company to be at risk. Non-dilutive financing options we offer:

- Venture Debt

- Invoice Financing

- Revenue Share Financing

- Recurring Revenue Financing

- Asset Financing

- Stock Financing

To lower risk, and be more strategic based on the unique nature, structure and stage of your company, we at Angels Den will look at the best financing options and help decide which one works best for you!

Angels Den Academy: The Angels Den team has curated the Angels Den Academy to introduce entrepreneurs and investors alike to the world of venture capital. This four to six-week program is a practical and educational course with hands-on learning in:

- Investment Analysis

- Due Diligence

- Deal Sourcing

- Valuation

- Portfolio Management

- And more!

The Academy includes guest speakers from several other venture firms and practical professional tasks for a hands-on learning experience. We have a long list of successful alumni who used their acquired skills to break into venture capital and other business ventures. Our next cohort begins in early November, so if you or someone you know is interested please reach out!

Legal Offerings: We have partnered with start-up legal experts to answer all of your legal questions and ensure you do not get caught in the legal jargon. When your money is on the line, it is critical to ensure you are aware and understand terms and clauses regarding your investment, especially when your own money is on the line. Our legal partners aim to solve any problems, support you, and answer any questions.

MENA Expansion: By 2030, the Middle East’s digital economy is expected to reach $780 billion USD, a fourfold increase from today. We aim to capitalise on this growing economy, so we have partnered with a UAE-backed program to help you invest. This partnership paves the way for UK and European startups to enter the UAE and Middle Eastern Markets. Don’t miss out on this opportunity and reach out to learn more about this program.

Thank you all who attended for what was a great evening enjoyed by all. See you at the next event!
