Coriolis provides data and analytics as a service through Restful APIs or as stand-alone solutions. We have four products - two in market and two in development. The Open Trade product provides trade & trade finance, political risk and market intelligence data. Users can identify supply chains, run What If scenarios & calculate political risk. The supply chain mapping tool idenitifies upstream/downstream supply chain participants, supply chain blockages and trade restrictions and trade flows. It is currently being used to monitor the global Covid 19 supply chain by the ADB. A trade-war scenario planning tool, an SME onboarding tool & an ESG trade finance "passport" for exporters
Coriolis solves three problems: 1) lack of data in trade finance making it resource intensive to plan strategically 2) costs of onboarding SMEs for banks relative to deal size 3) the uncertainties and risks in markets from frequent shifts in sanctions and trade policy as a result of a shift in foreign policy in the US. Coriolis has tools to identify dual use goods and political risk ahead of conflicts arising, which allows banks to track their trade finance flows against emerging crises. Coriolis is using its expertise in dual use goods tracking to create a global and standardised tool for ESG status. We also run sanctions and KYC/AML checks meaning that the solution really is end-to-end
Coriolis have three revenue models: bespoke builds followed by maintenance agreements against modular API services; subscriptions to some or all of their data via the visualised platform; consortium partnership (using a similar model to that used by R3 and TradeIX to raise money from the sector on a collaborative basis). The latter is particularly appropriate for the work currently being undertaken in in the ESG space. In addition, Coriolis has funded the majority of its R&D through grants from Innovate UK.
